Compliance Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Compliance Coordinator (CC) is responsible for ensuring that the facility complies with all Corporate, Global, Local, State & Federal requirements and/or regulations for the site. In this role, the CC will Chair the site Compliance Team (CT), with representatives from ALL departments. The CT will then facilitate the required activities necessary to meet the goals as defined by the CC, and will report to the CC in relation to those efforts. The Compliance Coordinator reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Chairs the facility Compliance Team (CT).
Serve as the Management Representative for all ISO programs at the site and coordinates site activities needed for establishment of, and compliance with, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 standards.
Ensures compliance to:
Insurance Company requirements for the site.
Facility Contractor Safety Program through the Compliance Team and the appropriate site managers.
Facility & Site Security Procedures.
Takasago Global initiatives as directed by the Plant Manager.
As related to the Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) provide support to the Director QC/QA to facilitate audits as required, ensure necessary training is conducted and documented, and assist with third party or customer audits of the facility.
Coordinates with the CT all Statutory, Regulatory audits/certifications.
Work with the Site EH&S Manager to:
Ensure compliance to DEA storage and reporting requirements.
Act as primary contact for DEA visits on-site.
Ensure proper retention of DEA records.
Selects and trains back-up for DEA visits.
Serves as the Primary Contact for any audit if the site EHS Manager is not available.
In coordination with the Site EH&S Manager and the CT ensures compliance with Local, State & Federal facility operational requirements such as Air Permits, RECRA, OSHA, EPA, DEC, Right-to-know, Waste management, Water discharge etc.
Identifies compliance aspects and develops compliance MATRIX for facility to track performance.
Work with the Compliance Team to ensure that all equipment and installation meets EPA, OSHA, and insurance requirements.
Along with the CT and Site EH&S Manger ensures compliance with all company safety, health, and environmental policies, rules, and regulations.
Conducts compliance audits as necessary to measure success.
Ensures timely responses to NCRs.
Ensures timely responses to incident reporting.
Act as member of the BCP Team to insure all contingency plans, crisis management procedures, or emergency response & recovery procedures developed do not conflict with Corporate, State or Local regulations.
Responsible for ensuring most current BCP procedures are maintained in the Takasago Portal.
Additional Responsibilities:
When Initiated, serve on the facility EHS management steering committee and as an ISO internal auditor.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Materials Management preferred.
Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, EIT, IHIT, CET, CHMM, or REM a plus.
Experience:
3 - 5 years of experience in production environment required.
EHS or QA related experience preferred.
Experience as auditor or with audits in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 18001 a plus.
Skills:
Regulatory Knowledge preferred.
Demonstrated success with problem solving, root cause analysis, and working in a team environment required.
Safety and environmental training a plus.
Attention to detail/task oriented individual.
Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills required.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
